Undeterred by wet weather

Despite the cold and rainy weather on Saturday, there was still a great turn out of 38 bikes and cars for this year’s Lighthorse Charge to Hermidale. The event, which kicked off last year, has now become a popular annual fundraiser for the RSL Cobar Sub Branch. Pictured above is RSL Sub Branch president Ben Hewlett with the group of motorbikers and drivers on Saturday morning before they headed to Hermidale for lunch. Hewlett expected the wet weather would have turned many away however he said he was pleasantly surprised with the turn out on Saturday which helped to raise $3,000. The proceeds will go towards the construction of a war memorial in Drummond Park to honour all locals who have served their country.
