2021/2022 season was a swimming success

Cobar swimming Club’s perpetual trophy winners pictured at Friday night’s end of season presentations at the Cobar Bowling & Golf Club: Amara Bottom, Taylah Wyllie, Tillie Cain, Rebecca Wyllie, Clair Cousins, Harry Cousins and Nick Hodges.

The Cobar Swimming Club marked the end of their 2021/2022 swimming season with a presentation night at the Cobar Bowling & Golf Club on Friday night.
The Championship winners this season in each age division were: 5 years—Isla Jo Mur-ray; 6 years—Rosie George and Ford Ellison; 7 years—Queena Jiang and Cooper Trudgett; 8 years—Taj Goonrey; 9 years—Hannah Trudgett and Tommy George; 10 years—Taylah Wyllie; 11 years—Holly Watt; 12 years—Montana Grentell and Elijah Hodges; 13 years—Megan Guirin and Axel Fairfull; 14 years—Amara Bottom and Zaiden Saunders; and 15 years—Henry Knight.
The runners-up girls and boys in each age division were also recognised.
Gold (1st), Silver (2nd) and Bronze (3rd) medals were presented to the season’s Pointscore winners.
Gold medals in the 17 metres division went to Hallie Deppeler and Ford Ellison while in the 33 metres, the winners were Kayla Gidig-asu and Ryan Jiang.
Taylah Wyllie and Harry Cousins were the 50 metres Pointscore winners while in the 100 metres division, the Gold medal winners were Taylah Wyllie and Henry Knight.
Henry also finished as the 200 metres Pointscore winner along with Clair Cousins.
Among the perpetual trophy winners this season were: Tillie Cain and Taylah Wyllie, who shared the KML Junior Club Person award.
The Brian Howell Achievers Shield went to Nick Hodges while the Norm Higgins Overall Most Improved swimmer of the season was Harry Cousins.
The Eric and Audrey Martin President’s Choice award was earned this season by hard-working committee member Rebecca Wyllie.
The Tom Knight Encouragement Award went to Tom Mitchell while Clair Cousins was named the Colleen Martin Junior Achiever of the season.
The Bunyan Family Senior Club Person trophy went to Amara Bottom.
A group of 29 swimmers also collected their 17m Superstar awards and four 17m Graduate swimmers were recognised for their improve-ments over the season as part of the club’s end of season presentations.
